Free Night Out on Christchurch Council

Every year Christchurch holds a Buskers festival, where acts from all over the world come to the city to perform. We went to see 2 of the acts, both of which were great. The first one was a acrobatic show and the second was a flame show, where they chucked fire about for half and hour!!!

Kayaking with Dolpins

After waking up to a great day we decided to drive to a place called Akaroa on the Banks Peninsual. It was such a great place. We decided to hire a double Kayak (I was steering!!!). When we where paddling two Hector Dolphins came and swam alongside the Kayak for a few minutes. Pretty cool day out that is only an hour away from where we are living.

New House and Car in Christchurch

Well we have made it to Christchurch. The ferry over was a bit rough, but I managed to keep everything down!!!!

All sorted with a house and car now. Car is a lovley Brozen colour, which Danni loves. House is great and is in a place called Cracroft in Christchurch.

Start uni next week, which should be fun.

New Plymouth

Big drive down took about 5 hours. It was good to see Brendon and Clair (who is now 6 month pregnant) They looked after both of us really well. Ate Paua for the first time which is a NZ delicacy, I thought it looked like mushed up slug but it tasted pretty good!! We went up to Brendons farm to help get the horse shoed (well we stood and watched) We went out on his quad bikes for a tour of the farm which was unreal!!! We were out for about 3 hours with Danni screeming in my ear to slow down, great fun.

We visited his Mum and Dads house which was up on a hill over looking the harbor, his Mum made great roast lamb which was the best. Drank far too much red wine watching to the sun coming down.

We met up with Maf for lunch, he was on good form. Both me and Danni should have played touch with him but got dropped before the game as it was an important match!!!!!

We brought a car!!! A Subaru Legacy Station Wagon or other wise known as a Estate car in a lovley Bronze colour. Danni named it 'Bear' after 'poo bear' as she said it looked like the colour of poo!!! How nice...

Meeting the Nutts

From Auckland we drove to the Bay of Islands to meet up with Dave and Hazel. It's not how you would imagine NZ to be, but spectacular all the same. We borrowed their tent to sleep in as they were going up market and sleeping in a unit!!!! We had a great few days on a few beaches around Whitianga. Me all dug a good hole on hot water beach looking for hot water (really) but neverfound it (Dave even inlisted a young kid to help but to no avail). Had an epic game of crazy golf which was still all tied after the 18 holes It seemed a little strange meeting up in NZ after only a few months ago talking about the move. Any way off to New Plymouth to meet Brendon, Clair and Maf.

Arrived in NZ!!!

We have got here!!! It was a bit funny Have to go through the NZ residents gate. Anyway all we have to do now is sort a car, a house and a job not too much!!!

Last day in Sydney

Another last! We have done so much in the short time that we have been here. Me, Danni and Mick had a surf lesson on Manley beach. We watched the New Year fire works over looking the harbor bridge. Watched the test match at the SCG. 8 of us went up to Hunter Valley to taste some (lots) of wine. Me, Danni, Sarah and Adele went to the Races (Sarah was the only one who won anything)and generally just had a good time. The next post will be from our new country!!!!
