Muddy Mountain Biking

Holidays are coming to a close. I dragged Danni out for a Friday afternoon bike ride,it was a bit wetter that I thought it would be. There is great mountain biking on the Port Hills, with tracks going straight from our street.

Gone Fishing

We went with a friend of mine up to a place called Lake Coleridge. I don't think that I'm a fisherman (I didn't catch a thing) but took a book and a news paper and chilled out for the day. Amazing place! Will have to try again soon! If I could have caught tea that would have interested me!

Half Term Hols

At the end of 10 weeks at school we get 2 weeks off. We decided to drive to the west coast for a few days R and R. Drove via Arthurs Pass to a place called Punakaiki (famous for it's pancake rocks and blow holes). The weather was unreal. Middle of winter and could have been in shorts and t-shirts. 1st day we just sat and watched the sun come down at the Panckae rocks. Second day went down to the remote beaches (it was only 10mins from the place we were staying, then we had a walk up to some caves (which you never could have gone into in England (Danni didn't like them!!), 3rd day just a little walk by the local river before a drive back.

Going down to the beach!

It's great 20min drive and we were on the beach! Never mind there was no sun we could still have some fun! Like big kids we went to fly the kite to some friends from the teaching course that I'm doing.

Lyttelton Festival of Lights

Another freebie on Christchurch council. We went on a dark cold Friday night to watch the Fireworks. Lyttelton is a little bit hippy in it's apprach to most thing. We went to some friends of ours to have drinks and get a nice and warm view of the evening.
