Day in Lieu

The benefits of working on a school camp over a weekend was getting a day off during the week. Me and Danni headed out the the Port Hills. Miles upon miles of single track other wise know as Mountain Biking heaven. The only better thing is it's right on our door step!

Molesworth Madness

We went along to the Canterbury High Country to Molesworth Station (other wise known as a very big farm!) to support some friends of ours doing a 84kms relay race through the station (half marathon each). We said that we would go along for the journey to help feed and water them. We thought it would be a good idea to  cycle along side them to help out. The views were stunning, one of the runners hit the wall which was very funny after he had recovered a little!! I cycled 3 of the 4 legs and Danni did 2 of the 4. Think that we might have to run it next year

Long weekend in Akaroa

For Danni's birthday I booked a B & B in Akaroa for the long show weekend (Thank god for the farming show in Canterbury!) The weather was great 28 degrees. B & B was great, having views over the water,  we were really looked after. Did a little bit of kayaking but mainly just chilled out. Met a lady from Huddersfield and it was good to chat about Yorkshire for a few hours over a glass of wine or two. Visited the Giants House, which was pretty cool gardens and sculptures.  It was really good to have a quite weekend with Danni. 4 weeks to go to the summer hols!

Danni's Birthday

Had a bbq for Danni's birthday. Really good fun. It was warm enough to sit outside at 10pm (we couldn't do that many times in Spring in the UK) Really good food. Drinking games followed! Face your fear led to drawing blood and Bunnies went down well. Good times.
