Escaping the Aftershocks

After escaping the aftershocks in ChCh we headed up to Auckland to visit the Nutt’s. It seemed a little strange to be away from ChCh, no aftershocks and life seemed to be going on as normal. Watched the news for hours looking for updates with little good news coming. We both felt guilty for not being back home to help as there was so much to do. We did do a few things to take our minds off the quake including:

- Heading out to a place called Goat Island for a bit of snorkeling, loads of fish which were really close to the shore. It was a great distraction!
- MTB at a place called Woodhill. Good riding
- Wedding Dress Shopping (luck I went to the coffee shop)
- Finally there was a game of plung kerplunk which Dave won hands down, which resulted in a mid night dip!

Very Lucky in the Christchurch Earthquake.

This was the effects on our house from the 6.3 Earthquake on the 22nd Feb 2011. We were so lucky just broken glass. Many people are much worse than us with people loosing friends, family, house’s, livelihood's, power and water. We are so fortunate to be alive and that all our friends are ok too. Our thoughts go to those who have lost those who are close to them.
To put it into perspective about the amount of damage in the city centre have a look at the link below.
